Hey my loves, how is your 2021 going thus far? I know, it hasn’t even been a full week yet LOL but I thought I would check in with you babes regardless. As a result of last year I know a lot of folks are starting fresh with their workout routines, diet plans, and business plans etc. this year. I think the new year also presents an opportunity for us to remember to show ourselves a little self love after such a turbulent year in 2020. What better way to start the new year than by practicing a little self care and in turn, self love? So, I’ve put together a quick list of 19 simple and free self care ideas to kickstart the new year for you babes! Please comment, share and let me know what you think.
Make your bed. Completing this simple task in the mornings will help you feel like you’re starting your day organized and accomplished.
Start the day with affirmations. This is one I practice every morning and I believe it sets you up for success throughout the day but also in the long haul.
Follow up affirmations with your gratitude list. Another daily practice of mine. This is a great way to set the tone for the day babes!
Pause. Breath. Meditate. When you’re feeling overwhelmed or upset, take a moment and breath babe. Turn inward and focus only on your breath
Take a long bath. Allow yourself the time to chill and make it a luxurious bath.
Watch a motivational video on Youtube. This is something I do anytime I’m feeling a lack in motivation and it really helps!
Drink 1 gallon of water per day. I’ve added this to my day for the last month or so and I’ve seen a big improvement in the way my skin looks!
Write a list of 10 things that you love about you. This can be a hard one but it will really help you refocus on the positive things about yourself 🤍
Place your phone on airplane mode. I love doing this! Haha it’s really a great way to allow yourself the space to turn inward.
Purge that wardrobe babe. Ug this one really does it for me! It feels so good to get rid of some of that clutter. Plus you can donate unwanted items and goods which adds to the feels on this one!
Listen to an uplifting podcast. Always a go to of mine and this can really help set a positive tone for the day.
Go for a long walk. I do this every day and it’s so calming. Fresh air can really help clear your head space!
Work out. Follow it up with some self love by stretching and/or look up free yoga videos. Get those muscles moving babe!
Create. Writing or drawing is a good outlet for me and this is such a therapeutic option and can really help you unload after a long day.
Read an encouraging book. Psst… my goal is 10 pages per day and it’s been totally achievable!
Sing… loudly! Like as loud as you can and let all those emotions out babe 😌
Go to sleep 20 minutes early. When I opt into this I always feel so much better throughout my day!
Eat something green. Then follow it up with something chocolate, because balance babe!
Schedule me time on your schedule. Like seriously, pencil YOU in babe, you’re worth it.
