What to Wear to an Audition | My DFW Audition

The Denver Look | Olivia Merrill Audition

Big news, lovely readers! Your very own Olivia Merrill got casted in the Spring Denver Fashion Week, coming this March! This has been one of my goals for a while and I am beyond excited to share my experience with you babies! I’ve walked in a few local shows as well as some live modeling shows for Spyder and Sport Hayley, however, I have never had the pleasure of being featured in Fashion week!

I wanted to share about my experience from beginning to end, so I am starting with my audition so you guys can share in this with me as well. I know how stressful and scary it can be if you’re new to this and trying to break into the fashion world. So, I put together a list of some need-to-know tips for your next audition!

Black Tank Top

Find Online: H&M

Price: $4.99

The classic, black tank top is a MUST. Make sure it is well fitted so they can see your true physique and it HAS to be black – no white shirts!

Black Jeans

Find Online: Fashion Nova

Price: $39.99

Be sure to wear snug jeans, black is preferred, but you can rock blue too! I am a big fan of high waisted but this depends on your body type and what you feel the most sexy in! However, it is a great go-to that creates an hour-glass illusion, plus it makes your bum look juicy!

High Heels

Find Online: Nordstroms

Price: $89.95

Heels are a must, babes, and check out this cutie from Nordstroms at only $89.95! Go for a very clean, basic heel and try to stick to black but nude is okay as well. Make sure they are comfortable! You will most likely be walking the cat walk or standing for an hour or more.

More Tips

Avoid jewelry unless it’s minimalistic and not to flashy – designers don’t want to see what kind of taste you have in accessories, they want to see you, gorgeous!

Clean face (and guys, clean cut). Some make up is totally fine, but again, they want to see you and be able to easily analyze if you’re look fits with their brand or designs. I usually throw on foundation, mascara, and brows and call it good.

XOXO, Olivia Merrill
