My Trip to Bali, Indonesia

The Denver Look | Travel Blogger in Bali

Tis the season for holiday break and seemingly endless vaca’s so I thought I would share a little something about my trip to Bali, Indonesia with you babes! Bali is such a magical island with so much to see and do and I wanted to, not only share my experience, but help you plan out your adventure in Bali by putting together a quick list of my favorite spots!

So, I had the wonderful honor of traveling with my big sis’ and after our ”quick” 23 hour day of travel (yikes) we landed in Jimbaran, Bali… Now, as I HIGHLY recommend, we did do plenty of research beforehand. However, what we didn’t find prior to was that Jimbaran isn’t one of the best places to vaca’ in Bali. So we spent our first day touring other areas nearby and finally settled in Seminyak.

Seminyak is known for it’s shopping, restaurants, beach-front resorts and hotels, and night-clubs! Our first adventure was a half day trip to the Taman Ayun Temple, about 30 minutes in town. We spent a lot of time in Seminyak, it was one of our favorite spots! I highly suggest staying at The W Hotel, if you’re looking for a young/fun vibe with gorgeous accommodations and killer views! I also put together a quick A-list below for you babes!

Taman Ayun Temple in Seminyak, Bali

Seminyak A-List

*Cafe Bali GREAT Vegan options

*OMNI Day Club

*La Favela – BEST nightclub

*AYA Street – Peruvian Fusion Cuisine

*Potato Head Beach Club

*Tiger Palm – Millasian Cuisine

*Mamasan – Asian-Thai Cuisine

*Da Maria Italian

*Merah Putih – Indonesia’s Finest Cuisine

We also took about an hour and a half drive outside of Seminyak to visit the Temple Tanah Lot – which I highly recommend as well. Be sure to visit the rice fields and stop for lunch at Bamboo Restaurant (on the way back to Seminyak) for some absolutely delicious, authentic Indonesian food.

My most favorite day-trip was our adventure to Nusa Penida, an island south of the main island of Bali. Be sure to book a tour guide on this one! We took a private boat over to the island and drove about an hour and a half inland. Once we finally reached a beach-lined cliff, it was another 30-45 minute hike down the cliff (so scary but to worth it) to the most stunning, private beach I’ve ever seen!

Our next adventure was a two hour drive up north through Bali to Ubud. It was incredibly beautiful with plenty of options on activities! We made a few stops along the way to our Villa at The Royal Pita Maha one of which was the Butterfly Den.

I highly recommend the Royal Pita Maha in Ubud – it’s a gorgeous palace-like hotel just 20 minutes outside of downtown Ubud and it is spectacular! I’ve included a must-see/do list for Ubud area below.

*The Yoga Barn

*The Monkey Forest

*Bridges Restaurant

*Moziac

*CP Lounge

*Tanah Lot Tour

*Bali Swing

The last a final stop? A very relaxing two day stay in Nusa Dua at The Mulia – possibly my favorite! I’m always up for some drinks and zen, beach-front… plus Seminyak was only a 30 minute drive so we could hit up our favorite night clubs on our last night.

Thanks for reading babes, hope this helps you plan ahead on your next trip to Indonesia!
